Last Thursday, we celebrated all the volunteers who worked tirelessly for the success of this year’s Independence Days Celebration. Gathered around the outdoor tables of Territory, our volunteers enjoyed friendly conversation and exchanged colorful stories about the event.
Later, while enjoying the unbeatable sunset vista on the rooftop of The Independence Hotel, some members of the Independence Days commission were awarded special honors for their dedication, selfless attitude, and overall outstanding work. Commissioners of the Year Award went to Aaron Wimer, Lisa Cox, and Sgt. Justin Hedlund of the Independence Police Department. Volunteer of the Year was awarded to John Frost, and Community Partner of the Year went to the Monmouth-Independence YMCA.
