This one story commercial building is rectangular in plan and has a flat roof with a parapet. A wood shake pent-roof marquee and paneled cornice decorate the front elevation. The building is sheathed in stucco. A fixed pane window is located in the retail base. The pent-roof marquee and retail base are later additions. The building faces south on "C" Street and is in good condition. The building was occupied in the 1940's by Dean Walker. Walker had his hop office in the building and was a prominent person in Independence. He served as a State Senator for years.  The building was renovated in 2009 for use as a beauty salon.
