1937This one story residence is square in plan with additions and has an intersecting hip roof with a front gable which is covered with wood shingles. Narrow weatherboard siding sheaths the exterior. A wooden watertable caps the concrete foundation. The windows are three over one double hung wood sash with a projecting cornice. There is a wide bargeboard with notched ends, exposed rafters and purlins under the front gable. The front door is new. The building faces east on South Seventh Street and is in good condition.
There is a one car garage with weatherboard siding and a gable roof with a flat roof carport in front.
The building was occupied by W.T. House who was the janitor at the Independence Elementary School in the 1940's.
