This one story residence is rectangular in plan and has a hip roof with composition shingles. Asbestos siding sheaths the exterior. The windows are casement, and five over one double hung wood sash. There is an enclosed porch with casement windows An attached garage is to the north. The building has undergone major alterations; the front porch was closed in c. 1940. The building faces east on South Fourth Street and is in fair condition.

The building was occupied by Nick and Velma Veersag at one time. Velma's family owned a farm one half miles south of Independence on Bush Road.
