The windows are one over one double hung wood sash and fixed pane with leaded glass transoms on the front elevation. The front porch posts have been replaced and a wrought iron balustrade added. There is a garage addition and new sliding glass doors on the north elevation. The attached garage has vertical siding, a gable roof and an attached carport. The building faces east on the corner of South Seventh Street and "D" Street and is in fair condition.

The building was occupied in the 1930's  by Glen Smith, a Postmaster in Independence.
