This one story residence is irregular in plan and has an intersecting gable roof with composition shingles. Wide weatherboard siding sheaths the exterior. A concrete foundation supports the building. The windows are fixed pane. There is a shed roof porch with tapered bosed porch posts on the front elevation. The building was resided and windows altered ca. 1980. There is an attached garage as part of an extension on the west side. The building faces east on the corner of South Main Street and "E" Street and is in good condition. The building was occupied by Edwark Dunckel. Dunckel started the Dunckel Laundry and operated the business for many years in Independence. Ray and Violet Dunckel later took over the laundry and operated it until the early 1980's.
