Local Boy Scout Bryce Tarnasky built five wood benches for two city parks as his Eagle Scout Project. Tarnasky installed three benches around the play area in Pioneer Park and placed two benches at the basketball court in John Pfaff Park.
Another Eagle Scout project cleared brush in Wildfang Park so that surveyors can access the area. The survey data was used to determine the placement of the Ash Creek Trail.
Other volunteer projects have included developing and installing interpretive signs in Mountain Fir Park, removing invasive species in several city parks, and creating design layouts for a ballfield complex that the city is developing.
These projects are merely examples of the opportunities available for residents who need to complete a service project. Please contact Shawn Irvine at the city if you are interested in volunteering in our parks.
