Beginning August 24, 2026, the Independence Dog Park, Mt. Fir Park, Sunset Meadows Park, and Pfaff Park are closed to the public until further notice due to insufficient funding. These parks will remain closed dusk to dusk, and the city of Independence will not accept liability for anyone entering the parks.
