During the 2024 General Election on November 5, 2024, the positions for Mayor and three Councilor positions will appear on the ballot. The filing period for interested candidates begins on June 5, 2024, and all filing requirements must be completed by 5:00 PM on August 27, 2024.
The Mayor is elected for a two-year term, while the City Councilors are elected for a four-year term. The Mayor and half the Council positions are up for election every two years.
The city recorder prepares election schedules, files measures for the ballot, and certifies the final election results to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal election laws and policies and to ensure that the city elections are conducted in a fair and impartial manner.
