Last Friday saw the staff-level kick-off of Sunset Meadows Park, which included our contract engineer and landscape architect, city of Independence Public Works Director Gerald Fisher, and City Manager Kenna West.
After a review of the land and the original Sunset Meadows Park Master Plan, staff discussed the opportunities and challenges to the project, such as plant types, equipment needs, volunteer opportunities, and the project timeline.
“It was really great to be out there and know that we are moving forward on this great project,” said City Manager West. “We have a plan.”
