If you’ve driven Corvallis Road in Independence recently, you may have noticed updated speed signage. New signs have been installed to create more consistent speed transitions along the corridor and improve safety for all road users.

If you’re heading north into town on Corvallis Road, updated speeds are:

  • 55 mph on the south end of Corvallis Road.
  • 40 mph in transition areas south of town.
  • 30 mph in the River Oak Road area.
  • 30 mph approaching the 4-way stop.
  • 20 mph at the Independence Civic Center.

Please be aware of the updated signs and follow posted limits to help keep everyone safe.
