Crews are making steady progress on infrastructure work at the Southwest Crossing development site on Talmadge Road. Ongoing work includes grading, preparing detention ponds, and laying out key underground utilities to serve future homes.

Once complete, the 67-lot residential subdivision will expand housing opportunities, improve drainage and transportation connections, and strengthen the foundation for future neighborhood growth in southwest Independence.

Originally approved by the Independence Planning Commission in 2021, this private project represents an important, carefully planned investment in our city’s growth that meets local housing needs while maintaining the character and livability of our community.
