The meeting locations are accessible to persons with disabilities. Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 199-050-0070 requires the public body to publish on its website the contact information of the person to whom a grievance may be submitted alleging a violation by the governing body of the Public Meeting Law. Written grievances must be submitted to the Independence City Recorder within 30 calendar days from the date of the meeting where the alleged violation occurred and must contain the following information: (1) the name of the governing body that allegedly violated the Public Meetings Law; (2) the date of the meeting where the alleged violation occurred; (3) the specific facts and circumstances that you assert amounts to a violation of the Public Meetings Law; (4) the date of the grievance; and (5) the name and contact information of the person submitting the grievance. The grievance may be submitted in person at the Independence Civic Center, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 11:30 am or 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
