Last week, we hosted our first Stormwater Master Plan Open House, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to stop by, ask questions, and learn more about how stormwater moves through our community.

Stormwater systems do a lot behind the scenes. They help prevent flooding, protect homes and businesses, reduce pollution in our rivers, and keep streets safe during heavy rain. In Oregon, where wet weather is part of life, that infrastructure works around the clock, whether we see it or not.

While it may not always grab headlines, maintaining and improving our stormwater system is essential to keeping the city running day in and day out. It is the kind of work that often goes unnoticed, but it makes a real difference every time it rains.

If you were not able to attend, you can still learn more about Stormwater here: https://www.ci.independence.or.us/stormwater/
