Your Journey into the Supernatural
The Independence Ghost Walk began in 2002 as an offshoot of the Independence Hop & Heritage Festival and is now a cherished event hosted by the Heritage Museum. The inaugural event welcomed over 300 guests to hear spooky tales at three downtown locations. Over the decades, the ghost walk has grown significantly in both attendance and the number of dedicated volunteers it takes to bring it to life.
The main ghost walk focuses on about 20 locations in the downtown core, all within comfortable walking distance. At each stop, over 30 volunteers present well-researched, historical stories alongside chilling tales of a spectral nature, providing guests with both an education and a shiver down their spine.
Additionally, explore Apparition Avenue, which highlights some spooky and historic locations that are off the beaten path.
