Let’s Celebrate The Essence of Volunteering
Volunteering with the City of Independence is more than just an opportunity to give back; it’s a chance to build meaningful connections and make a tangible impact. Whether you’re helping maintain parks, assisting in local events, or supporting city departments, each task contributes to the well-being and vibrancy of our community. Additionally, volunteers often gain valuable experience, develop new skills, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment.
We encourage everyone who is interested to consider the wide array of volunteer roles available. By working together, we can create a stronger, more connected Independence.
Volunteers provide a positive and meaningful impact on our community
Volunteer Applications
The volunteer program offers opportunities for community members to actively assist the City with various projects and programs that benefit the residents of Independence. Your valuable contribution of time, energy, special skills, and expertise is greatly appreciated. Your support enables the City to offer a higher level of service to the community. After submitting an application and Criminal History Disclosure Form, there will be a review process to determine the best fit for volunteering. Background checks will be conducted on individuals aged 18 and older.
