Following a new and improved application process, former City Planning Commissioner Evan Sorce has been appointed as the newest member of the Independence City Council. 
Evan was selected from a pool of highly qualified applicants through a transparent and structured process designed to ensure fairness and community representation. This new approach was implemented to provide a clear and equitable selection process, reflecting the Council’s commitment to transparency and community engagement.
Evan brings valuable experience from his time on the Planning Commission and a deep commitment to serving the Independence community. We are excited to see his leadership and vision help shape the future of our city.
