Join us in welcoming the city of Independence’s new Finance Director, Rob Moody! 
Rob grew up in Independence and has over 35 years of government accounting experience, previously serving as a finance officer for the cities of Wilsonville, Sherwood, and The Dalles. Rob also served as a volunteer firefighter/EMT in The Dalles. Rob has spoken nationally, regionally, and locally on governmental accounting and reporting. Rob is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Accounting and is a licensed CPA and Municipal Auditor in Oregon.
Rob says he looks forward to working with the Independence finance team, building on their skills, and sharing his experience.
When asked what he would like to share with the Independence community, Rob’s no-nonsense-character came through.
“There’s no magic to government accounting and finance,” said Moody. “It’s just numbers, and you just have to be transparent with the numbers and where they come from.”
In his spare time, Rob enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, and building home décor out of old bourbon barrels.
