The Independence Boil Water Notice is lifted for everyone in the city, including those in the area around C Street after all water tests confirmed no contaminants in the water system. Residents no longer need to boil their water for safe use.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the city of Independence, Oregon issued a precautionary boil water notice after a main waterline was struck by contractors performing work on C street. After repairing the mainline, the city’s public works department sent two water samples to be tested for drinkability yesterday afternoon. All tests came back with no contaminants.
The city is deeply grateful for the dedication shown by our community in staying informed, sharing information with their loved ones, and actively participating. It is through our collective efforts that Independence thrives as a unique and vibrant place to call home.
