Last night the Independence Police Department celebrated National Night Out, our annual community-building campaign in partnership with the Monmouth Police Department, Polk CERT, and Polk County Fire District No. 1. Alongside a crowd of community members, we built camaraderie with food, lawn games, a bouncy castle, and giveaways. 
We especially would like to thank Faith Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their lawn space, Cornerstone Church for providing the bouncy castle, Grocery Outlet for their generous donations of food, beverages, and gift card, and the Monmouth Starbucks for bringing drinks and sweet treats.
We hope to see you all next year as we foster a stronger and safer community in our two cities.
