JUNE 2025

  • Officers responded to a civil dispute and discovered one of the individuals had an outstanding warrant related to weapon use. The person was arrested and taken to jail.
  • Four individuals were seen at a store attempting to cash fake bottle returns. One tried to use a fraudulent $160 Coinstar receipt. They fled the scene, some on foot, others in a vehicle. Officers are reviewing footage to identify those involved.
  • A landscaper was using a leaf blower when a man approached from behind, struck him, and tried to remove his face mask. The suspect claimed the blower was intentionally blowing debris under his fence. The incident was caught on video, and the man was arrested.
  • Witnesses saw a driver traveling in the wrong lane before crashing into another vehicle. The driver showed signs of intoxication, had open containers in the car, and failed sobriety tests. He was arrested with a blood alcohol level of 0.17% and charged with additional offenses for endangering others.
  • Residents were alerted to a trespasser through a security camera. When they confronted him, the man made threats and pointed a handgun at one of them before fleeing the area. He was later located in a nearby city and taken to jail in possession of concealed knives. With consent, officers recovered the handgun from his residence.
  • On June 4, a bicycle was found hidden in bushes near 17th Street. The bike had a driver’s license number engraved on it, which helped officers contact the owner. The owner had not realized it was missing but reviewed home surveillance footage and identified a suspect. Officers also recognized the individual from the video. Later that day, the suspect was seen at Riverview Park but ran when officers tried to arrest him. He was found again at Mt. Fir Park. Although he did not initially follow commands, he surrendered when additional officers arrived. A search of his belongings revealed a baggie containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine and a concealed push dagger. He was arrested for bike theft, drug possession, unlawful possession of a weapon, and a parole violation warrant.
