Earlier this week, we proudly swore in Officer Anthony Preston as the newest member of the Independence Police Department.
Originally from Portland, Officer Preston is a graduate of Western Oregon University and has spent much of his time in the Monmouth-Independence area, and he absolutely loves it.
He began his law enforcement career in 2018, serving as a Patrol Officer and School Resource Officer, as well as a Defensive Tactics and ORPAT Instructor. His passion for policing was sparked by a meaningful interaction with a police officer in high school that left a lasting impact.
Outside of law enforcement, Officer Preston is active in youth advocacy, serving on the boards of two nonprofits. He also enjoys coaching, camping, paddle boarding, and spending time with his family.
Please join us in welcoming Anthony to our team!
