Parks are places where the community gathers, where connections are built, and where memories are made. Yesterday’s ribbon-cutting at Sunset Meadows Park captured all of that and more. Under sunny skies, neighbors came together to explore the new nature play area, equipment, and picnic areas, celebrating our city’s newest addition.
Mayor McArdle expressed pride in the collective effort behind the park, sharing, “This park is a reminder of what we can accomplish together, and I’m so proud to be part of a community that values and invests in shared spaces like this.” Sunset Meadows reflects our community’s vision, first imagined in the 2015 Master Plan when residents shared their dreams of accessible, beautiful green spaces. Thanks to all the funders including the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, T-Mobile’s Hometown Grant Program, Pacific Power, Marr Brothers, AARP, as well as system development charges, this dream has become a reality.
We also extend heartfelt appreciation to community partners like the Western Oregon University Football Team, Keller Associates, and Servpro, along with the many friends and neighbors who donated time to plant trees and greenery throughout the park.
Here’s to a future filled with fun, friendship, and joy at Sunset Meadows Park!
