Recently, the Independence Police Department, along with the Monmouth Police Department and Polk County Fire District No.1, was presented with the Community Partnership Recognition award by Central School District 13J.
Leading up to the first day of school, our agencies began the work of reminding our community to slow down in school zones – and that student walk zones are everywhere. We also broadcast the upcoming return to school and 20 miles per hour throughout the two cities.
The Independence Police Department is grateful to partner with our local school district to help educate the community and keep students safe.
