Best Events On The River

The City of Independence has curated 4 major events that provide families in the mid-Willamette Valley something exciting to look forward to each season. Each event focuses on a slightly different demographic, however all share a common thread; offering families an opportunity to come together, celebrate and create new memories.

City of Independence events have become a part of the local culture, with many families planning their 4th of July around our Independence Days event or mapping out their summers around specific concert weekends of our Summer Series. We’re creating traditions that so many people look forward to each year, and your sponsorship dollars are what make these events possible. We are always happy to find new partners that share our vision to create more togetherness.

If that sounds good to you, become an event sponsor today and contribute to the fun times ahead. You’ll find more information about each event below. If you have any questions, please reach out to Courtney Williams at cwilliams@ci.independence.or.us

Touch-A-Truck is a unique event that happens on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. It gives families the opportunity to see, touch and honk big pieces of equipment and unusual vehicles, all while getting to engage with the operators who work them. The event also offers a Mother’s Day Card Making booth which the kids love! There is no admission cost, but we do ask that people bring a food donation for the Ella Curran Food Bank. This event drew 2,500 people in 2024, but grows larger each year.
